Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to apply for the position of Deck Cadet for your company, as your ships are considered to be the most innovative, technologically and constructively interesting, and my application form is therefore enclosed for your review. I am a third-year student in Lithuanian Maritime Academy, and I would like to start career with your vessels: 500 gross tonnage and more, I understand that in order to do this I must start at the bottom and work my way up. I worked on RO/RO-PAX ship as a Deck Cadet so I understand that ships of other specialities are absolutely different and demand more knowledge in navigation, cargo operations etc., which is essential in career and knowledge growth. I am a quick learner and can pick up new concepts and tasks very quickly, due to that I would like to begin my training on your ships as soon as possible. The knowledge and fluent speech in English and Russian languages will most likely help my career, as there will be no problems in communication, which is essential in this line of work. I am ready for the challenge and am prepared to work as many hours as necessary to become a professional navigational officer.
